REMEDIAL MASSAGE
Remedial Massage has no identity problem. It was first
accepted to be scientific
in the 19th century. Although it drifted out of fashion
with the incessant drive
towards technology it is available in some G.P. surgeries,
hospitals, health centres,
massage schools, sports centres and beauty clinics.
Massage cannot lay claim to cure illness but it should
not be dismissed as a luxury
either. It makes you feel good, outside and in. Gentle massage
is painless
and effective, treating people for a wide variety of complaints
including
asthma, arthritis, backache, joint and muscle sprains, headaches,
cramp, high blood
pressure, insomnia and rheumatism.
It works by increasing the blood circulation to the area.
It enhances the flow of
lymph, the body's natural weapon against injury. It is based
on a philosophy that the
body always wants to be well and so encourages natural healing.
