The Children's Liver Disease Foundation
The Children's Liver Disease Foundation cares for all families
and children
with liver disease and channels energy into three broad
activities:
research, education and supporting families and children.
The Children's Liver Disease Foundation, formed in 1980,
was the first charity
to be established concerned with liver disease.
Today it leads the field in caring for children and families
suffering from liver disease by:
- Giving emotional support to children and families affected
by liver disease.
- Promoting research into the causes of childhood liver
disease.
- Developing means of an early diagnosis and cure.
- Providing new facilities and trained staff.
- Creating a greater awareness of paediatric liver disease
by education of healthcare professionals and the public.
Activities
- Supporting families and children through the Family
Support Officer,
Children and Adolescents Support Officer and Education
Support Officer.
- Study days for healthcare professionals.
- Annual Conference and Scientific Meeting.
- Funding research projects.
- Fundraising.
Publications
A wide range of literature is available including leaflets
on specific
liver diseases and conditions. A list can be viewed on the
