HealthChat’s Healthy Nutrition
Official: Healthy Nutrition Means Healthy Lives.
Hopefully we are all aware that to be healthy requires
us to eat a healthy diet. However, new research, published
in the Journal of the American Medical Association, has
rubber stamped this fact for all of us.
The researchers in New York studied over 40,000 women in
their 60’s, scoring them for the amounts of fruit,
vegetables, whole grain foods, low-fat dairy products, lean
meat and poultry they consumed per week.
This was the first full-scale study of multi-nutrients
and their relationship to health and long life. The results
were pretty conclusive.
Those women who consumed a healthy diet, as advised by
the latest dietary guidelines, lived longer and had less
health complaints. Evidence we should all be seeking to
put into practice.
