Folate In Pregnancy
There is never a better time to start improving your eating
habits than when you are pregnant. Remember whatever you
eat will affect your developing baby. Equally, good nutrition
can reduce any risks.
Folic acid has long been known to reduce birth defects;
Mothers-to-be who consume adequate amounts of folic acid
before and during pregnancy can reduce the chances of such
defects by up to 50%.
So if you are planning a pregnancy feed up on these folic
acid rich foods (unless of course you have particular food
allergies or sensitivities);
- Green vegetables.
- Strawberries, oranges, raspberries.
- Tomatoes.
- Nuts and seeds.
