Myasthenia Gravis
WHAT IS MYASTHENIA GRAVIS?
Myasthenia Gravis is a rare condition which is characterised
by
fluctuating, sometimes fatal muscle weakness.
A problem occurs when the neuro-muscular junction is damaged
so
messages from the nerve cannot get through effectively to
the muscle
resulting in limited use. Any skeletal muscle, or group
of muscles,
can be affected and exercise or repetitive use of the muscle,
weakens
rather than strengthens.
