Lymphoma
Helping those affected by lymphatic cancer
When you learn that you have a lymphoma, whether Hodgkin’s
disease or non Hodgkin’s lymphoma, you may know little
about it. In these circumstances, it is very natural to
feel fear, anxiety, despair and a certain hopelessness.
The more you know about something, the less afraid and anxious
you are likely to be. We believe that knowledge conquers
fear.
The Lymphoma Association provides information and emotional
support to anyone with lymphatic cancer and to their families,
carers and friends.
Hodgkin’s disease and Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma
Lymphomas are cancers of the lymphatic system. The lymphatic
system is part of the body’s defence against infection
– the ‘immune system’. It is made up of
glands and tubes that are found in many parts of our bodies.
Hodgkin’s disease and non Hodgkin’s lymphomas
are types of lymphoma; they differ in behaviour and treatment.
Lymphomas can affect both adults and children.
